Bejing Silver
The competition program of Cup of China is over, and one half of ISU Grand Prix series is behind. On the final day nine dance pairs presented their free dances.
Unfortunately, an innovative and somewhat shocking show, performed by Jana and Sergei to "Meadowland” music, was estimated by the jury a bit lower than it deserves (87.79 points). Curiously enough, new acrobatic lifts that stress the heroic nature of the dance that was rich in links didn’t earn the top, fourth level. But there is satisfaction from the smooth first start. As for scores, they will go up with time. We are sure that the programs themselves will look much brighter somewhere in the midwinter.
For the time being, we congratulate the duet with their start in the Olympic season and wish to collect this year as much precious metals in the form of medals as possible. They put the first silver award in their ‘piggy bank’ (overall sum is 180.57 points), now let’s move ahead!

It’s already the late evening in Beijng and the first competition day at the Cup of China has just finished. Towards the end, dancers showed their sketches on the themes of folk dances. We must say that this time nine pairs performed nine different dances – not a single repetition!
