The third ISU Grand Prix competition, Cup of China, started in Beijing. The dancers were the first to compete. Jana Khokhlova & Sergei Novitski got 36.30 points, second after the Americans Belbin & Benjamin Agosto. The Italians Federica Faiella & Massimo Scali are the third. Practically all the duets got their places according to the World Standing.
The dancers will be the last to start today too – at 21.15 local time (16.15 Moscow time) 9 duets will show their versions of folk dances. Jana and Sergei will present their Russian dance to the song “Vdol po Piterskoy” for the first time. We hope that the jury and spectators will like their bright presentation.

It’s already the late evening in Beijng and the first competition day at the Cup of China has just finished. Towards the end, dancers showed their sketches on the themes of folk dances. We must say that this time nine pairs performed nine different dances – not a single repetition!
