 It’s already the late evening in Beijng and the first competition day at the Cup of China has just finished. Towards the end, dancers showed their sketches on the themes of folk dances. We must say that this time nine pairs performed nine different dances – not a single repetition!
In their Russian dance Jana and Sergei shoed the spirit of the merchants’ Moscow – typical Russian movements stressed musical accents of the song “Vdol’ Po Piterskoy” sung by Muslim Magomaev. Vividness of Russian temper was enhanced with costumes from Slava Zaytsev who is unsurpassable in design of garments a la russe.
Having received for their first performance of the original dance 56.48 points, Jana and Sergei retained second position next to Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto, scoring 92.78 points for two programs.
Tomorrow, at 15:05 by Moscow time free dance program starts that will crown the competition in Beijing.
